Never Go Open Contract!

Are you Retarded?

An open contract is basically a piece of paper stating that you'll take whatever job is available to you upon completion af your basic training. Did you hear that? Whatever is available! If you're trying to enlist for any specific job... this is not a good idea. Unless you enjoy cleaning toilets of course.

Look, I'll make this quick. For those of you who won't listen to a word I say and you know who you are... you're on your way to your recruiter's office right now to defend ol' Trevor's right to be rich. I have but one tip for you. When you sign your name on that dotted line, as so many of us dumb asses have before you, do me one favor. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go Open Contract.

I've seen it a hundred times. Some poor sap wants to be a military chef, but there are no positions open so his good ol' faithful recruiter talks him into signing the contract anyway. (remember, these guys work on commission. See "Don't believe the hype") And guess what? Nope! Wrong! They're not chefs! They're grunts! That's right, you wanted to be a chef.. ha, ha, ha.. screw you GRUNT! And as the drill instructor laughs in your face I'm sure the one and only thought on your mind will be, "If I ever see my recruiter again.."

So if you are going to be stupid enough to voluntarily sign your life away, be smart enough not to enlist under an "Open Contract." Make a choice. Pick something and if it's not available... don't sign up yet. Make your recruiter sweat it out, most of them are overweight anyway... a good sweat couldn't hurt. The bottom line is this: enlisting under an open contract is like buying a car you've never seen and don't even know exists. And if you're retarded enough to trust a salesman, or recruiter enough to sell you something that doesn't exist... who knows, maybe you are cut out for the military.
